Dear Sustainche Farm™ Community Members,
Thank you very much indeed for all your registrations and for your demonstrated enthusiasm during the past three months by submitting questions and comments. In fact, it is to individually thank each and every activist for her and his support. Beyond this, Sustainche & Lisa feel that their special thanks need go to Manfredche II in Germany who with his numerous questions considerably contributed for the benefit of all of us to be able to provide a more comprehensive picture on what Sustainche Farm™ in Northern Namibia is all about and on the farm family’s daily life. With 10 subscriptions until today, it is fair enough to say that our present community member group is something like a Sustainche Farm™ Project ‘executive committee’.
On 1 September 2011 the Sustainche Farm™ Project according to its schedule will enter what is described in our FAQs as ‘Project Preparation Phase II’ or ‘Mobilization Phase’. So, let’s shortly recap the progress made so far during the ‘Motivation Phase’ since 1 June 2011:
1. Sustainche Farm™ project in Northern Namibia launched, Sustainche Farm™ awarded and the award being accepted by Meme Tresia & Tatekulu Fillipus and family!
2. Sustainche Farm™ website registered, designed and launched – two months ahead of project schedule!
3. Sustainche Farm™ website considerably enlarged in terms of content and pictures. Two member-exclusive albums on the Farm House and Farm are published!
4. More than 50 comment / replies / questions received and answered!
5. Two polls on Sustainche Farm™ published, # 1 voting on a regional food product speciality (The ‘Mopane Worms’ Episode) and # 2 on Vision 2030!
6. Sustainche Farm™ Project Twitter is operating, regularly updated and reported.
In conclusion the ‘Motivation Phase’ provided all necessary information to understand the project and to receive an in-depth inside view of the Sustainche Farm™ family’s daily life.
With reference to the result of Voting # 2 the Sustainche Farm™ Project has formulated its overall project objective, which is also in favour of the worldwide Slow Food™ movement:
“In an industrialized agro-environment Sustainche Farm™ is famous for its tasty & clean products. Diversification of income (tourism) and niche markets (marula oil) shall be explored.”
This provides the Sustainche Farm™ Project a strong consolidated direction and vision, and we are optimistic to be able to reach this overall objective much earlier than the year 2030! Thus, Sustainche & Lisa and the Sustainche Farm™ family can be very happy of what has been achieved during the past 3 months ‘Motivation Phase’.
